Congratulations to 2020 ATH Jacob Oliphant (Monte Vista – Danville) for establishing himself as one of the best athletes in the nation at yesterday’s Nike The Opening Combine at El Cerrito HS! Jacob Oliphant ran a laser timed 4.38 40 yard dash! Jacob’s time would have ranked him 10th overall at the 2019 NFL Combine. His 40 inch vertical also would have placed him in the top 10 at this year’s NFL Combine. His overall SPARQ score was 114.87, which also puts him up there with the nation’s best. Oliphant is one of the top kickoff/punt returners in the west region while also excelling at DB and WR. After yesterday, colleges will surely be taking a 2nd look at Jacob’s film. Jacob also comes from a great bloodline of talent with his father being former NFL player Mike Oliphant (Browns, Redskins, Seahawks). I had the pleasure to Coach Jacob as a freshman in Track & Field at Monte Vista so it’s nice to see this hard working young man reach his goals. Good luck to Jacob this season and the rest of the Monte Vista Mustangs.
